Weekly Wander: Learning To Hold Space For All Parts Of Ourselves

The Moment

This week, stepping into so much newness - teaching my first yoga class, sharing my writing, putting my photography work out there - I caught myself in that familiar spiral of doubt. You know the one? I sure do. Where your inner critic shows up uninvited and suddenly you're questioning if you're ready, if you're qualified enough, if your voice even matters. But instead of getting swept up in it like I usually do, I actually noticed it happening. Like, really noticed it.

What Caught My Eye

It was kind of refreshing, observing my thoughts instead of drowning in them. Instead of letting that "not enough" voice take over, I remembered what my friend shared about tuning into our highest self. About checking in - am I speaking from the part of me that learned to stay safe by staying small, or the part that knows there's room to expand? I realized how often I've been operating from that wounded place without even knowing it, especially when it comes to sharing my voice with the world.

The Truth It Whispered

There's something so powerful about learning to talk to these different parts of ourselves with love. To look at that scared part and say "hey, I see you." To acknowledge the uncertainty with "I feel you." To remind ourselves "it's okay to be human." And then, gently, to let our highest self take the lead - the one who knows our voice matters, who trusts there's space for our voice, who understands that being seen in our fullness might be exactly what someone else needs, and exactly what we need.

A Gentle Invitation

Next time you notice that inner critic showing up (because trust me, it will), try pausing. Notice which part of you is speaking. Hold it with so much love. Then ask yourself: what would the highest version of myself do here? Sometimes the bravest thing isn't pushing through or fighting back - it's just witnessing ourselves with compassion while continuing to show up anyway.
